Evergreen Marine (UK) Ltd. is a UK-flag container shipping company with headquarters in London. Established in January 2002, initially under the name of Hatsu Marine Limited, the company is part of the Evergreen Group which is a multi-billion dollar global business embracing shipping, aviation and the leisure industries.
Evergreen Marine (UK) Ltd. market its global container services under the brand name 'Evergreen Line', together with Evergreen Marine Corp. (Taiwan) Ltd., Evergreen Marine (Hong Kong) Ltd., Italia Marittima S.p.A. and Evergreen Marine (Singapore) Pte Ltd., as one of the world's leading transportation giant. In addition to this, the company is responsible for developing new markets in North Europe, particularly in Russia and the new member countries of the EU.
The London office is further investigating new regional/feeder services and alliances with other North European deepsea carriers in order to strengthen Evergreen Line's ability to provide an improved range of services to its customers. Its strong performance resulted in Evergreen Marine (UK) Ltd. being presented with the Queen's Award for Enterprise: International Trade in 2006. Furthermore, Evergreen Marine (UK) Ltd. is committed to high standards of training, both for its seafaring and office-based staff. Deck and engineering staff regularly undertake courses at the Evergreen Seafarer Training Centre in Taiwan. The company also has a UK cadet training programme in place and several of its vessels are currently carrying British cadets.
