Evergreen Marine (UK) Limited is a UK-flag container shipping company with its headquarters in London. Established in January 2002, initially under the name Hatsu Marine Limited, it is part of the global Evergreen Group that also includes Evergreen Marine Corporation (Taiwan) Limited, Italia Marittima SpA and EVA Air. Evergreen Marine (UK) Limited currently owns eleven vessels and has a further two ships on longterm charter from German owners.

    Together with Evergreen Marine Corporation (Taiwan) Limited, Evergreen Marine (Hong Kong) Ltd and Italia Marittima SpA, Evergreen Marine (UK) Limited markets its global container services under the brand name Evergreen Line. In addition, the company is responsible for developing new markets in North Europe, particularly in the new member countries of the EU and Russia.

    The London office is also investigating new regional/feeder services and alliances with other North European deepsea carriers in order to strengthen Evergreen Line's ability to provide an improved range of services to its customers. Recent examples of UK-led initiatives have been the inauguration of joint services linking North Europe with the US East Coast & Gulf of Mexico and with the East Coast of South America, both of which are now marketed under the Evergreen Line name.

    The largest ships in Evergreen Marine (UK)'s owned fleet are four 7024 TEU S-type vessels. They incorporate many environmentally friendly features including the ability to use shoreside electricity supplies when in port, double-skinned hulls to reduce the risk of pollution should the vessels be involved in incidents, and large tank capacities suited to the carriage of low sulphur fuel oil and grey water.

    Evergreen Marine (UK) is committed to high standards of training, both of its seafaring and office-based staff. Deck and engineering staff regularly undertake courses at the Evergreen Seafarer Training Centre in Taiwan. We also have a UK cadet training programme in place and several of our vessels are currently carrying British cadets.
